Happy 4th! Progress

Good morning, and Happy Fourth of July!! I am sorry I have not posted in awhile things have been very busy! As you all know I moved to Calhan onto 40 acres of bare property so I had to rebuild everything. Building is almost finished! Our tac shed and riding area went up last weekend, all of our fur babies have permanent homes and houses, they are all very happy. The barn that is here was unuseable for the animals so I put in a kitchen for guests to use as well as to use for parties and functions. The duck pond will be going in the end of the month for ducks and modt likely blue gill so the kuds can fish. The chickens are laying to continue our find and take eggs home. The orchard so far has apple and peach trees for a limited pick your own fruit that should be ready in 2 years. The raised garden boxes are on order for a limited pick your own veggie area next year. There will also be an area where the kids can plant their own seeds. After consulting with my staff we have decided that instead of donations we will have to charge a small entrance fee because donations were not working to operate. The 1st years funds will go towards putting in a play ground by the pony area for our kids to enjoy and you can bring your lunch. I am so excited for next year and to see all the kids again. Here are some pictures of our progress. Considering distance to get here I want to make it a day of fun for your kids! We will still do 1:1 as well as groups next year. Please continue to think of Valkyrie and let me know if you have ideas to add. All of the building and materials are out of my pocket so I am getting things done as quickly as I can. Thank you ALL for your support!!

Busy Little Bees

I hope everyone is well during this pandemic. We have been busy little bees working while the kids are home. Fred has a home, we got 4 little piggies for grow out. Fingers crossed it works out so we can do it every year. Cole had a huge cyst on his under belly, Doc came out and gave him a little surgery so he is healing. Our old bun Johnny passed away, Soda has been living inside while he heals a broken foot. It's been a trying month but the blessings out weigh the sadness. Here are some pics of our progress and new faces. Hugs and love to all of you💞

Winter Storm Report

I hope everyone faired our strange weather yesterday. I am happy to report we faired well. We did loose our beloved milk goat Ginger on Thursday, she was burried Saturday night. RIP Gingie. Our first bun Johnny has moved into retirement and is house bound due to age and his hips not doing well. He will reside inside until he is 100% or is placed on the hill 😔. A few pics from today... I cannot wait to start having everyone back out!!
